250px-ReligionSymbolAbr.pngAbrahamic Religion is another term for a Judeo-Christian Relgion - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They are called Abrahamic Religions because they span off the family tree of Abraham. Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were promised offspring as numerous as the stars by God. They had a son, Isaac, whose son Jacob had 12 sons who became the founders of the 12 tribes of Israel. This provides the basis for Judaism as well as Christianity, as Christianity comes directly from Judiasm, as Jesus of Nazareth, the savior of Christianity, was Jewish. Islam comes from Ishmael, Abraham's son with his servant Hagar. Because Abraham and Sarah both thought Sarah would never be able to produce a child, he had a son with Hagar, and Ishmael had 12 sons who became the founders of the Arab tribes leading to Islam.
